The Global Food Safety Initiative's (GFSI) governing principles of Once Certified, Accepted Everywhere emphasizes implementing a benchmarked food safety standard for third party audits to increase thoroughness and efficiency and enable suppliers and buyers to spend less time managing multiple different audits from customers.
The Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program is designed to provide food safety audits that focus primarily on the documentation that proves food safety programs are being implemented in the facility as they are described in procedures. Therefore, it is imperative that food safety and quality programs are documented accurately respective to how they are actually performed and consistent with the requirements of the SQF Standard. The benefits of an SQF audit include certification to a standardized global evaluation and assessment of food safety and quality programs beyond GMP inspections.
AIB's SQF 2000 Systems: Overview webinar will help food companies realistically prepare for the SQF Certification Audit and understand how this type of audit differs from a GMP inspection.
Topics to be covered include:
- GFSI introduction
- SQF Standard sections
- SQF audit strengths
- Basic differences from GMP inspections
- Explanation of the audit scope, process, and the grading system
- Continuous management activities
- Suggested step-by-step process for getting started
Participants will also gain an understanding of specific directional words and phrases and learn practical tips for managing the day-to-day programs specific to SQF.
The webinar will conclude with Frequently Asked Questions and time for participants to submit their own questions.
