The NWFPA Autumn Assembly of Committees Golf Tournament, Fishing Derby and Awards Dinner are fall favorites for Processor and Supplier Members and their guests.  This annual event has become one of the premier golf tournaments in the Portland-Vancouver area.  NWFPA members and guests will experience one of the top traditional style golf courses in the area, Riverside Country Club.  The tournament has sold out the last few years.

The days’ activities provide an excellent opportunity to mix and mingle with industry professionals.  The four person scramble format allows all levels of golfers to contribute and enjoy the round.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and for men’s and women’s longest drive and KP holes.   Putting and chipping contests will be held prior to the start of the golf tournament with prizes to be awarded during the Awards Dinner that evening.

Fishing Derby near Bonneville Dam

The Fishing Derby will be held on the Columbia River.  However the plan is to head to Bonneville to ensure the best possible chance to catch salmon and/or sturgeon.  Prizes will be awarded for the top three catches.  Fishermen will meet at the Riverside Country Club, where transportation to and from the Columbia River will be provided for return for the reception and awards dinner.  The day will be longer than in the past - estimated 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. 

Reception and Awards Dinner

The reception, following the finish of the Golf Tournament, will allow fisherman and golfers who are the first in to begin networking and speculation about award winners.  The Club House at Riverside is the perfect setting for the reception and well attended dinner featuring Pacific Northwest fare, the awarding of golf and angler awards plus loads of door prizes valued at over $10,000 in 2011.

Online registration will open in late May.  Golf is limited to the first 144 players and the tournament and sponsorships have sold out the last three years.  For more information call 503.327.2200.

Discounted room rates have been secured at the Embassy Suites Portland Airport for NWFPA Autumn Assembly of Committees.  For reservations call 503-460-3000 and ask for the special NWFPA room rate of $139 before August 27, 2012.  Free parking and a complimentary airport shuttle are included in the $139 rate plus a cooked-to-order breakfast and manager’s reception.

Discounted room rates have also been negotiated at the North Harbour Residence Inn, Courtyard and Fairfield Inn on N Anchor Way (Marine Drive at I-5).
