Four Person Scramble Golf Tournament

NWFPA Processor and Supplier Members and their guests have the opportunity to play at the new home of the LPGA Safeway Classic in 2013.  This year the best ball tournament and awards dinner will be hosted at the 18-hole Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

The Autumn Assembly Golf Tournament is one of the premier tournaments in the Portland metro area.   The day’s activities provide an excellent opportunity to really get to know fellow members and other food processing industry professionals.  The tournament will be a four person team best ball competition, providing opportunities for all levels of golfers to contribute and enjoy the round.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and for men’s and women’s longest drive and KP holes.   Putting and chipping contests will be held prior to the start of the golf tournament with prizes to be awarded during the Awards Dinner that evening.

The tournament has sold out the last few years so be sure to register early.  Many companies buy a foursome and invite their key clients.

Columbia Edgewater (CECC) History

CECC features 6,702 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 71. The course rating is 72.9 and it has a slope rating of 131 on bluegrass.  Designed by A. Vernon Macan, ASGCA, the course opened in 1925.

Macan, an Irish immigrant to British Columbia, became the most successful golf architect throughout the Pacific Northwest during the so-called Golden Age of golf design.  The Club was founded by men of vision and the course laid out by a skillful and talented architect-player.  NWFPA is fortunate to book one of the limited number of dates available at CECC.  For additional course information see the Columbia Edgewater website.

Golf and Fishing Awards Dinner

Don’t miss the awards dinner at the finish of the golf tournament.  An early reception will allow fishermen and golfers who are the first in to begin the networking and speculation about award winners.  The club house at Columbia Edgewater is the perfect setting for the reception and well attended dinner featuring a delectable Pacific Northwest menu, the awarding of golf and angler awards and loads of door prizes valued at over $12,000 in 2012.

The Autumn Assembly Golf Tournament is a great opportunity to network with leaders in our industry, renew acquaintances, and shoot for bragging rights while playing at Riverside, one of the premier golf courses in the Northwest. Tight fairways and fast greens make this championship course very challenging for all participants. Afterwards topping the evening off with a great meal is something to look forward to as well.
