NWFPA Workforce Development Program

The food industry is a people business. Workforce training, recruitment, and retention of our employees sustain the industry.  Last spring, our members identified 15 job titles that have become “difficult to fill” jobs.

As the recruitment process begins to take more time and effort, we should consider more effective ideas.  What new skill sets do we want from a future, cognitive replacement workforce?

Many of our sessions at EXPO 2011 were designed to illustrate or discuss the recruitment, retention, and training of the replacement workforce for our aging baby boomers. We have attached documents and handouts from the HR and Workforce Track related to workforce, employment, and recruitment onto our website to provide innovative ideas and best practices for a local food cluster workforce development plan.  Let us know if we can answer any questions related to these presentations.
