Nominate your company as a premier employer for front line workers

Northwest Food Processors Education & Research Institute (ERI) and the Hitachi Foundation are jointly offering the Pioneer Employers 2011 Award Challenge. As part of Hitachi Foundation’s Pioneer Employers Project, the awards recognize employers for their contributions in promoting economic opportunities for their lower-income employees as a means of improving their corporate results.  If your company has practices that improve the economic situation for your front line workers and other lower-income employees, you have a chance to receive this award and the press that accompanies it.

Awards will be presented in front of 150 industry leaders at a general session during the 98th Annual NW Food Manufacturing & Packaging Expo and Conference held in January 2012.  Winners will also be featured in the publications of the Northwest Food Processors Association, as part of a series highlighting efforts in elevating the livelihoods for lower-income employees.  In an effort to improve the economic state of low-wealth employees across the United States, practices will be developed into case studies.  We will recognize up to twelve companies in this first year of the challenge.
