NWFPA Serves as an ADVOCATE for Members' Interests and a RESOURCE for Enhancing Their Competetive Capabilities Print E-mail

The Food Safety & Technical Program of the Northwest Food Processors Association assists members in achieving competitiveness and regulatory compliance. The program focuses broadly on the technical aspects of production management including: operations, food defense, food safety, engineering, packaging, and regulatory compliance.

The mission of the OTA program is to
:

      • Be an advocate for members’ interests by managing association involvement and/or disseminating information regarding
        emerging laws, regulations and technical issues with the view toward science-based public policy compatible with operational
        feasibility, and    

      • Be a resource for members in managing challenges associated with implementation, compliance, enforcement of regulations
        and  training on technical issues of concern to members.

The OTA program focuses on three primary priorities
:

      Priority 1.  Manage association involvement in and information sharing of new and changing food processing statutes
                            and regulations at the federal and state levels.

      Priority 2.  Educate and promote relationship building with key Northwest regulatory agency personnel toward better
                            understanding of industry missions.

      Priority 3.  Manage technical issues and communicate issue development and scientific advancement of concern to member
                            companies.
